Meet My Soul

A UNHCR-funded photo book centred on the eyes of asylum seekers and refugees in Kosovo. Each photograph captures the emotions carried by people who have fled their homelands, including pain, love, agony, joy and sorrow, and traces their journey as they build a new chapter of life in Kosovo.

The photographs were taken in the asylum seekers' camps where Malisa Zymberi worked daily as a psychologist. This closeness shaped the project from within, grounding each image in trust and in relationships built over time.

Beyond the images, the book highlights the human stories behind displacement. It invites the viewer to look closer and see the person rather than the label. Visual art becomes a way to foster empathy, encourage reflection and support healing, both for those portrayed and for those who encounter their stories.

The project was created in collaboration with photographer Agon Mehmeti and designer Arber Gjigolli.
